Grants

VM ImPact – Community Grants Programme

Since its inception, the VM Foundation has provided funding for various programmes and projects in Community Development, Youth Development, and Parenting. Our work is made possible by our Members and generous individuals like you, who believe in empowering Jamaicans to achieve their full potential.

Building on this strong foundation, we are expanding our vision to support an even wider range of community projects. We welcome proposals from organisations working across diverse fields—education, arts and culture, sports, environmental conservation, and more—as long as they demonstrate strong community ties and create meaningful, lasting impact.

The VM ImPact Grants Programme

Through our VM ImPact Community Grants Programme, we offer three tiers of funding to support community initiatives:

  • Small Grants: $30,000 – $50,000
  • Medium Grants: $50,001 – $250,000
  • Large Grants: $250,001 – $500,000

Funding Priorities

We prioritise community-driven projects that deliver measurable impact across various sectors. We particularly support local groups whose initiatives benefit as many people as possible.

Key Features of Projects

  • Community Development Focus
We prioritise projects that directly address community needs, fostering growth in areas such as youth development, parenting, education, health, social enterprise, arts and culture, sports, etc.

  • Financial Education Integration
As part of our mission to achieve financial well-being and transform lives, the Foundation—together with the wider VM team—offers financial education to both implementing organisations and their beneficiaries.

  • Strategic Geographic Priority
While we focus on projects within a 20km radius of VMBS/VMTS branches to ensure targeted community impact, we also consider other high-impact initiatives outside this area.

  • Environmental Responsibility
All funded programmes must demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability, aligning with the Foundation’s values of responsible stewardship.

Project Highlights

This is a financial disbursement from the VM Foundation Ltd. to an organization to be used for a specific community-based project that is to be carried out according to agreed stipulations.

We welcome projects in Jamaica, across all parishes. While we encourage projects that are in close proximity to our branches, we are open to projects in any Jamaican community.

No. Projects that are aligned with our focus areas (Parenting, Youth Development and Community Development) are our first priority, but we are open to all kinds of projects that align with the mission and vision of the VM Group, even if different from focus areas.

We will accept electronic applications only. You can access the application form by visiting our website’s grant page and clicking the “Apply” button. Link:

Applications for individuals will not be accepted. Applications are welcome from registered organisations that are registered with the Companies of Jamaica, Department of Charities and Friendly Society and Social Development Commisstion as a Community Development Organization, or any other recognised body.

We mean either (a) that the project has a mechanism for remaining in existence beyond the course of this grant and (b) that the effect of the project does not end as soon as the project ends.

  1. Who – Registered organization not individuals.
  2. What – Community-based projects with wide-reaching, sustainable impact.
  3. Where – In Jamaica, across all our parishes. While we encourage projects that are in close proximity to our branches, we are open to projects in any Jamaican community.
  4. When – Projects that can be implemented as soon as Q2, 2025 and wrap up by October 2025.
  5. Why – To bring meaningful positive change to the Jamaican communities.
  6.

Yes, however each application will need to be separately submitted.

Projects who have this need are encouraged to apply for another grant. We are guided by the principle that we want the gagreements to be executed as they have been agreed.

  • Small grants and Medium grants will receive full allocation at the outset.
  • Large grants will be disbursed in at least two tranches, depending on the project scope and requirement.

Our grants are not intended to be used for any other purpose but that of supporting a community initiative. By this, the intention is that group of individuals are benefited and not an individual/partnership pursuing a commercial venture.
